We can’t wait to welcome all of the participants to the 6th Annual ROCKTOBER FEST in Disney the weekend of October 22nd!

The Grand Lake Fireworks crew will be holding our first fundraiser of the new year (you’ve got to realize, we measure years in fireworks shows!).

On Saturday, October 22nd, we will be hanging out all day at the Disney City Hall.  Among other things, we will have

• Chicken & Waffles Breakfast!
• BBQ lunch courtesy of SMOKIN BONES out of Owasso, Oklahoma!
• Silent Auction ALL DAY LONG – featuring, among many other things….TWO SUITE TICKETS to the OU/Iowa St Football game in Norman.  BOOMER!!!!

All of the proceeds from this day will go to the 2012 Grand Lake Fireworks show…so, you know that it’s a great cause!

So, come see us on Saturday, October 22nd in Disney, support the Rock Crawlers, and get your chicken and waffles and BBQ on!!

It is so worth the year’s worth of hard work when that first “BOOM” goes off!!

Guess what?

That’s right…we are already working on making next year’s even bigger and better!

Our first fundraiser for the 2012 Grand Lake Fireworks will be on October 15th with the Rock Crawlers that visit Pensacola Dam and support our surrounding communities in so many great ways.

The specifics aren’t set, but we are talking about some fried chicken and waffles for breakfast, a BBQ lunch/dinner as well as a silent auction with many great items, but featuring some jeep crawling accessories!

Again, Grand Lake Fireworks THANKS every single person who contributed in any way to this year’s spectacular show!

The barge has been loaded (maybe a few extra special double-knot spy secrets are still to be added) and all systems are go for this year’s best fireworks show.

Please, people, pay attention out there.  Swim at your own risk…it’s a big ol’ lake!

Now, we are on to the main event…the July 4th Weekend at Grand Lake!

Grand Lake Fireworks!

Our Spectacular 2011 Grand Lake Fireworks show kicks off Saturday Night at appx 9:30-9:45.  We promise it will be the best yet and accessible to so many people throughout the South Grand Lake area via either by boat…with so much open area to watch…or by land at the State Park by the spillways or anywhere along the shore along in the South Grand Lake area.

Then Sunday night, to top off you holiday weekend, don’t forget our friends over in Duck Creek with their great fireworks show.

All in all, so much to see and do this holiday weekend.

But, please remember and don’t ever forget, to be very, very, very careful out there this weekend.  You will undoubtedly have everything under control, but look out for the other guy!

You know how we can tell?  Because all the fireworks stands are open and from now until the middle of July those of us who live here will hear fireworks every single night…pretty good shows on the weekends!

But the best show will be next Saturday night, July 2nd, between the spillways in Disney.  Grand Lake Fireworks 2011.  It doesn’t get any better!

Be safe and have fun.  It is officially summertime at Grand Lake!

We want to make sure and Thank a couple of more people.  First, a great big Grand Lake Fireworks Thanks to Stan Dyer for getting our barges together in one place and manning them for the show for us.  This is a huge help…one of those things that most of us don’t consider that goes into a big 2011 Oklahoma fireworks show.

Also, our friends at Willow Park Marina for allowing us to keep our barges there all year.  This is another huge help to us to have a place where we can keep our barges for 364 days of the year…all for use during the big show.  If you are not familiar with Willow Park Marina, you should be.  They are located at the far back end of Ketchum Cove…some of the most protected water for your boat on Grand Lake.

July 4th Weekend at Grand Lake is just around the corner!

Where will you be on Saturday night, July 2nd, at dark thirty????

Only 4 weeks until the big Independence Day Weekend, with the Grand Lake Fireworks show set to blow on Saturday, July 2nd and dark thirty between the spillways in Disney.  A GREAT SPOT FOR ALL GRAND LAKERS to safely enjoy a patriotic 4th of July celebration!

Don’t forget, KITO 96.1 FM out of Vinita will not only be simulcasting the show in cooperation with AM Pyrotechnics, but will be broadcasting live from Grand Lake starting at 5pm on July 2nd, just to help, you know, get the party started!!

Alright Grand Lakers…should be a beautiful summertime weekend on the lake.  Be safe out there!

Now- about Grand Lake Fireworks….it’s coming.  Saturday, July 2nd, between the spillways in Disney, at dark thirty.  Be There!

Alrighty then – It’s Memorial Day Weekend at Grand Lake!!!

We (Grand Lake Fireworks) will be in Dripping Springs on Saturday, selling yummy BBQ sandwiches.  We will be on Warpath (KC Chiefs) houseboat, and should be anchored about 10:30am.  We will be there until we sell out of BBQ!  All the proceeds go to support this year’s show, which will be our biggest ever!

We also want to send a big Fireworks shout-out to our friends Jim & Paula Harbuck, who have very generously donated 2 Barges for this year’s show.  Many of you don’t understand all the different little things that go into putting this event on, and having barges donated is a huge benefit.  Thank You, Jim & Paula!

Lastly…be safe out there this weekend.  The lake came up almost 9 feet in 48 hours earlier this week.  That’s a ton of water (and stuff) coming in to the lake in a very short time.  GRDA has done an awesome job of getting the lake to safe level for the weekend as we are back below the 750′ elevation, and going down, as of Friday morning.

But, even with the lake level stabilizing, there is a bunch of stuff floating out there, so be careful and keep an eye out.  And, if you see someone that needs help….well then help them!

Alright, enough of that…Hey, Grand Lakers…have a fantastic Memorial Day weekend…and make sure to remember and appreciate the reason for the holiday.  Be safe, and we’ll see you in The Drip on Saturday!
