Disney Island Fireworks, circa 1940

The picture above is of a plaque that was purchased from the old owners of Rogers Cabins in Disney.  Based on research done in the area by the owner of the plaque, it is estimated that this advertisement dates to some time around the completion of the dam, the exact date has been difficult to pinpoint.

It looks like it was a festive, event filled weekend, culminating in “the most dazzling fireworks display scheduled in Oklahoma”.  Sounds like 4th of July weekend, 2010 to us!

Visit the Fireworks in Disney this year…it truly is where it all began!
